PSN Reviews: The Last Guy

Have you ever thought what would happen if the world ended tomorrow and was infested with Zombies and monsters waiting to devour your brains and possibly your soul? How would you survive and would you risk your life to save others at the time? What would you do if you were 'The Last Guy'?
Well none of those questions matter in this funky but fresh Japanese PSN game. The game starts off with a weird narration in japanese [but translated in captions]. As the story goes a purple beam of light hits the earth then zombies and monsters appear and starts devouring everyone around the the world like a fat guy eating a quadruple cheeseburger. However, those in buildings who viewed this horror are technically survivors and its up to you, the last guy to save them.
Gameplay:
Basically it feels like I'm playing a flash game on my PS3. A high quality flash game that is. Even though it's not an action game where you fight off the zombies and monsters it feels like a modern day remake of the old SNES classic 'Zombies Ate my neighbors' [without weapons] adding a taste of Google maps. It's also pretty difficult to because of the fact that you have to lead 1,000 people to the safe point within the alotted amount of time. Plus with the Zombies chasing you it makes it kinda hard to run albeit with your stamina running very short.
Graphics:
Like I said before the graphics look like a high quality flash game. The graphics are sweet looking, period. Only problem is that you never see what the monsters, people, or the last guy [you] look like up close. It's an overhead camera that leers above the city google maps style. Other than that thats the only way I can pretty much describe the graphics of the game.
Music:
Music is very amazing and ok but it really kicks in when the clock chimes down with those thumps letting you know to get the fuck back to the Safe point before time is up and the rescue chopper arrives.
Overall:
The Last Guy is an amazing game. Weird but fun. Even Shadow agrees but with me I enjoy weird Japanese games. This was my favorite and I recommend it to anyone who likes fun, fast paced, and challenging games like this. Go buy it on PlayStation Network now!!!
I give it a 8.5 out of 10 for creativity and cool japanese weirdness.
Socom U.S. Navy Seals: Confrontation Preview

For the last 4 hours, I'm sure all of you (and me :-D) have been playing the Socom Confrontation Beta. I'm here to give you all a quick preview on this wonderful piece of art. First of all, it's a beta so understand that my words will say some negative things refering to the beta. This game has amazing potential. When I first downloaded the beta it was at 1pm EST, and finished at 4pm EST. When I first jumped into the beta, I was amazed of how well the dashboard is.
The Network Sign-On didn't take too long at all. I was greatly impressed with how the game started out. I began to customize my character and noticed some lag. It wasn't un-godly horrible but it was enough to annoy you. I got it done it about 10 minutes (which isn't horribly bad) and proceeded to the lounge. Pretty niffty! The lounge was packed! Sweet. Anyways, I proceeded to enter a game and had to wait...20 minutes. Wait....20? Yep. Drove me mad. A lot of my friends from the Playstation Forums had the same problem.
So The match started and was GREAT for like 10 minutes until the lag started flooding in. I was able to pull off a couple of matches until the server started messing up and has now caused a ton of problems for most of us. Now a ton of us really can't sign in :-S As I said at the beginning folks, this is a BETA, and beta's have problems. So far, Slant Six started off well with the game, and just need to fix server issues. The characters, environment, controls, and music are stunning. It might not be as realistic as MGS4 and such, but you have to give Slant Six credit for such an awesome job on the game so far. Keep it up guys!!!

What's new in my gaming life?

Hello everyone! I'm really sorry I haven't been writing much lately. With the whole getting a job & training for the Metal Gear Online World Championship, it's been a pain in the ass trying to write all this news that has been coming out lately. So I thought I'd give you all an insight on my gaming life at the moment.
As of last night, I purchased both expansion packs to Super Stardust HD (The single & multiplayer packs) and Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty. I gave the expansion packs a try. Endless Mode-This mode is INSANE. No joke. As high a score as I hold in the High Scores list, I thought I would be doing well, but I was wrong. I can't even survive 7 minutes without getting killed (That Trophy is a b**ch to get). Survival Mode-lmfao! Even worse! EVERYTHING swarms at you. Good luck. I did get a chance at the beginning to last 45 sec. without firing anything. Well I last 45.1 seconds lmfao. I still got the trophy. Twas a Golden one. Bomber Mode-This mode is the hardest mode in the game. You only have bombs. Wait....no boost, or weapons....just bombs? Yep. You have enemies flying at you and you only start off with 9 bombs. In order to get the trophy in this mode you have to get 15 bombs. No, not use them then gain a couple and add it all up. You have to have 15 bombs at once. That's hard as hell when you have enemies flying at you.
R&C:Quest for Booty is an amazing game!! It's only a couple hours long but hey, I only paid $15 for it. The game runs on the same engine as FTOD (Future Tools of Destruction) so it's guarinteed to be amazing. The voice acting, the graphics, the storyline, environment....they are all stunning. Any of you out there who has beaten FTOD HAS TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!
The MGO WC Tournament hasn't been too bad. It's been a lot of fun, and also a lot of work. Having to work everyday and take time to train has been a pain sometimes. We have lost two game so far. The first match was against NeoGaf. They were good and we held our fort down well. The last couple of matches were extremely close but hey, congrats to NeoGaf for doing a great job! The second match was insane. The guys there were really good. They stayed well hidden and their accuracy was very good. Clean headshots and all. Congrats you guys as well!!! (Still have no clue what your names are...lol.)
The wonderful people (Liars) at Sony promised us on the 7th of August that Life with Playstation AND The Home Expanded Beta invites for North America will be out by the end of August. So....it's August 29th, no news, no nothing. Yes yes I know what you all are saying, "There's only two days left in the month, so wait!" Well last time I checked, that's a weekend. Nobody works on the weekends most of the time. I doubt they'll release anything for us on the weekend. Thanks again Sony. You do great at what you do (lying to us)!
Besides the Home Beta, on September 1st, another great beta will be opened to all you people who paid your way in (including me). Yes, the Socom U.S. Navy Seals: Confrontation Beta will start on Sept. 1st. Within the next 2-3 days you all should be recieving your codes from Sony (Can't wait to get mine!!!!). Best of luck to all of you that Neo & I face on the beta!
So I finally decided to put more time & effort into Bionic Commando: Rearmed and realized that it is an amazing game! Most people play a little and usually never complete it, but damnit, I am proud to say that I took the time to complete and by God, is one of the best PSN games to date! The gameplay gets better once you have aquired the extended Bionic Arm that allows you to grab soldiers that throw them across the level. Trust me, with tons of soldiers throwing grenades and such at you, throwing them in a pit or at an explosive barrel, takes the anger away.
Well, with the recent lust to play fl0wer, I have decided to go back and play fl0w. fl0w is a really innovative game that utalizes the SixAxis function to control your creature. Most people assume it's a pointless game, but if you really pay attention, it's about the emotion. The graphics are beautiful and when I say beautiful, I mean BEAUTIFUL. For all of you that haven't gotten the chance to place this masterpiece, fl0w is on sale for $7.99 on the PSN. This package ALSO INCLUDES the fl0w expansion pack as well. So jump on this sale as soon as you can!
What a gamer eh? Well, that's all I have to say for now, but next week I'm sure I will have some goodies about Home (MAYBE), and the Socom Beta. So keep your eyes peeled on this site and you'll be informed well!! Thanks for reading!
Guitar Hero movie = Possible Epic Fail

Ok, I whatsoever have no problem with Brett Ratner especially since he produced and worked on my favorite movies [The Rush Hour trilogy] and tv shows [ like "Prison Break" Season 3 and upcoming Season 4]. No problem whatsoever. But the idea to come up with a Guitar Hero movie? It sounds ridiculous. Might as well make a 'Rock Band' movie as a spin off or sequel if thats the case. I just cannot imagine it coming out right. It'll be like making Dance Dance Revolution: The Movie. How would the game be an influence in the story?
It would look kinda lame if he ends up having the guitar hero buttons appear on screen during certain parts of the movie where the band has its concerts and shows. The only video game movie that actually pulled off stuff that the player controls in a game that is seen in a movie was those guys who worked on 'Doom'. Doing 'FPS style' camera movement is one thing but letting movie viewers see buttons on screen and rifts? Highly likely, useless, and lame. However if they dont do that then its a small chance that people might like the movie.
Now if he does a documentary of Guitar Hero players going to contests, tournaments, and such almost being like his own 'King of Kong' doc then it would be sweet. He could pull it off. I dont mind him going for it he just needs to be careful how he plans it out otherwise he'd lose ALOT of money since this would be targeted to the Gamer/ Rocker audience. Although, I do hope that since he's planning on doing this he at least beaten one of the games to come up with his own story. I also hope that harmonix and Sony will have their hands in this because it at least Sony could promote certain products [*cough*PS3*cough*] in the movie to obtain partial rights and credit. Anyways, Good luck to you Brett Ratner.

"The E3 Killer"-Leipzig Games Convention

Dear friends, Leipzig is over! Many great announcements have been addressed this year and I'm here to let you know about my personal favorites. In 2007, E3, the biggest gaming convention in the world was announced to be invite only. Most people were disappointed (I sure was since I had $1,500 saved up for it right when they announced that it was invite only :-( ) and most people looked forward to other events to fill the void in there hearts in which E3 used to be. This years top gaming event so far happened to be the Leipzig Games Convention. Why? Well it was obvious...people were ACTUALLY allowed to come to the event! Our favorite console maker, Sony appeared at the convention this year and had some amazing announcements. First of which was Playstation Home being released this year. You heard me right, they promised us 100% that Home will be released by the end of the Calander year.
Another exciting announcement was the Heavy Rain demo changing from False to Fact. It's now official! An exact release date is to be determined for the Demo. Heavy Rain is expected to be released in 2009. Ever been wondering what that 'Secret' game was that Sony has been working on? The game happens to be called "Savage Moon". A bug-infested strategy game with a major twist. No other information was given out but keep your eyes on the look out for more information around Tokyo Game Show!
One announcement that caught my eye was "EyePet". This is a game that appears to be as cute as LittleBigPlanet. It's a game that works with the Playstation Eye and allows you to interact with your virtual pet Forget Nintendogs, this is the real deal! No stylus needed to pet your lovable friend when you can do it your self on your Playstation Eye with your own hand! Keep up the great work Sony!!!
Those are just the few great announcements that Sony had to offer. If you go to Kotaku or PS3Fanboy, then you'll notice the other great games that appeared at GC2008. The next event that is up in the lineup is TGS 08 (Tokyo Game Show 2008). Keep an eye out for more great games when TGS arrives this year! Thanks for reading!
